The bride shot dead on her marriage night in the village near the southeastern French city of Avignon after the masked armed opened fire, local officials say.
One suspect attacker was also killed in the obvious exchange of fire, and the groom and a child of 13 were hard wounded during the incident in the village Goult.
Manhunt is in progress that includes dozens of police officers and helicopter for an unknown number of suspects managed to escape.
The French media report that violence could be related to drug related results.
Authorities opened the killing investigation and attempted murder.
At around 04:30 (02:30 GMT) on Sunday, Mladenka, 27 years old, left the wedding dress in the rural house when unidentified attackers opened fire, reports on the AFP news agency.
The initial reports suggested that one of the attackers ran a car, but Avignon Prosecutor Florence Galtier stated that she was hit “in exchange”.
The surviving attackers, who arrived by car, ran on foot after shooting, the prosecutor said.
28 people in the hall were present in the hall during the attack, say the police. One woman was also slightly injured in the incident.
The hall is reserved in March “for wedding people who do not live in the commune,” said the local Mayor Didier Perello.
“I’m bitterly,” he added. “We are close to cities, I will not name them, where unfortunately, we have seen such things earlier.”
Guillaume Molinas, 50-year restaurant owner, said he was afraid of the deadly attack that the village would give a village of about 1,000 inhabitants “bad name”.
“The last major incident in the village was 125 years ago,” he was quoted that he said AFP without giving details.
