The Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.

In a separate incident on Friday night, Air Zermatt was also involved in challenging mountain salvation on Fiescherhorner, where four alpinists were stranded in the middle of fog and high winds.

The initial evacuation attempt had to be interrupted because of the time, but the second attempt only after midnight brought all four to security.
